Property Description
The Josephinum is a 221 unit historic building in the Belltown neighborhood of Downtown Seattle. Josephinum provides studio and 1 bedroom apartment homes and supportive services to formerly homeless persons. The street level of the building is shared with Christ our Hope Catholic Church. There are several other social service programs occupying space in the building as well.
Position Description
We have several openings for the Case Manager position across our eight permanent supportive housing programs to best match your passions, skills and level of experience facing housing instability in King County. Our programs vary as they serve single adults, couples and co-ed buildings. These positions are full-time (37.5 hours weekly).
We believe that every person has the right to a safe, affordable place to call home. We seek case managers who care deeply about the health and well-being of our residents who have lived through the trauma of homelessness.
The case managers in our permanent supportive housing programs works independently and as part of a team to provide outreach, ongoing case management and individualized service plans to residents. This position is responsible for providing a range of supportive interventions to increase stability for residents, focusing especially on housing retention and behavioral health. As part of ongoing support, the case manager coordinates with other members of the team by referring residents to other needed services (ie., medical, legal, etc.).
Job Conditions
This position requires the employee to work in an environment where there may be exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and other potentially infectious material. Other exposures could include cleaning supplies, chemicals involved in pest control, paint and other materials used in building maintenance. Working conditions may include interruptions, interactions with angry persons, and exposure to computer CRTs.
